Holiday Art Fun Classes Now Available


It’s the holiday season! To celebrate I am offering a week of art classes. Please take note of the different times and ages for each class. Email me if you have any questions (a contact form is at the bottom of this page).

- Tuition is $10 per student for a Little Tikes class (ages 4-6) and $8 per student for an Art Fun class (ages 6-12).
- Classes are held at my home off of Elliot between Recker and Higley in Gilbert.
- Feel free to register for as many or as few classes as you would like.
- To register for a class please email me your name and phone number, your child's name and age, and the class or classes your artist would like to attend. If you do not already have my email, please use the contact form at the bottom of this page.
- Tuition is due when you register. Once you email me your registration I will send you an invoice powered by PayPal (you don’t need to have a PayPal account). You will also receive an email with my address and details about my classes.

Little Tikes Art Fun Classes
for artists 4-6 years
Includes art and story time, all supplies, and a healthy snack

for artists 6-12 years
(children need to be comfortable using scissors)

Fall Break Art Fun Classes now available!


I finally posted my fall break offerings! Please look over the general information to the right as I have changed a few things from previous classes. The dates and descriptions for each class are below. Hope to see you in a few weeks!

Class 1 – Amazing Aliens: painted paper collage
Monday, October 10th from 1:00-2:30 pm


When I first saw the idea for this project I knew I had to make it with my kids. I think that your artist will enjoy this 3D alien too. He’s out of this world!

Class 2 – Big Bats: weaving, painted paper
Tuesday, October 11th from 10:00-11:30 am (please take note of the morning time for this class)

At our house we love bats. Especially ones with big red eyes and toothy smiles!

This class is cancelled. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused!
Class 3 – Fall Fun: watercolors, tempera paint, oil pastels
Wednesday, October 12th from 1:00-2:30 pm

 This class includes two fall projects: oil pastel pumpkins and painted fall trees on a watercolor background. Both are super easy and really fun to make.

Class 4 - Wild Things: paper collage, watercolors, oil pastels
Friday, October 14th from 1:00-2:30 pm


We’ll look at the fun illustrations in the books “Where the Wild Things Are” and “Glad Monster, Sad Monster.” Then create some fierce, but not so scary monsters of our own.

Art Show
Saturday, November 19 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm
My kids love the art shows! It’s so fun to have your hard work displayed and admired. 
- Friends and family are welcome. 
- Art shows are a come and go event where each student gets to decorate an art folder, see their art displayed, and enjoy refreshments.
- If you are registered for a fall break class, please let me know if you would like to participate in the show so that I may keep your child’s art. Otherwise, I will send the art home with your artist.

Announcing Little Tikes Art Fun Classes!

Little Tikes Art Fun Classes are for artists ages 4-6. I am offering three different exciting sessions with themes based on some of my favorite picture books. We’ll have a lot of fun reading and creating art while focusing on basic drawing, painting, and cutting skills.

Blast Off
Session 1: 8/24, 8/31, 9/7, 9/14

Calling all space explorers for an out of this world art adventure! We’ll enjoy some moon and space picture books then make space robots, an astronaut scene, and a smoky rocket.


Butterflies and Birds
Session 2: 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/19 
(no class on 10/12 due to fall break)

We’ll discover beautiful picture book butterflies and birds, learn about the creatures in our area, then create some caterpillars, butterflies, and birds of our own.

Holiday Fun

Get ready to celebrate fall and winter holidays with art! We’ll read about pumpkins, turkeys, and snowmen then create a painted paper pumpkin, a colorful turkey, and a snowman family.

I'm offering an additional class which includes two projects!

Van Gogh Landscapes: colored paper collage with oil pastels
In this class we’ll learn about the artist Vincent van Gogh and examine some of his landscapes then create one of our own.   
AND
Klimt's twirl tree: tempera paint 
In this class we’ll learn about Gustav Klimt then create a metallic tree inspired my Klimt’s “Tree of Life."

Summer Art Fun Classes Now Available!

I know I say this every time, but…my children and I are so excited about these summer Art Fun classes! There are many projects and dates to choose from. I hope your artist can find one that excites her. Please email me if you have any questions (a contact form is at the bottom of this page).

All of the classes and descriptions are below (there are four groups of classes). Most are being offered twice and on different days. Please just pick the set of dates that work best for you (either A or B).

Dinos, Dogs, and Frogs

Dynamite Dinosaurs: mixed media

This class includes two projects: a fun dino scene complete with a meteor shower and a decorated cut out dinosaur.
This is a two day class.

Woven Eyed Frogs: paint and yarn
This frog looks good enough to kiss! His eyes are made by weaving yarn around a disc (our new favorite art technique).
This is a two day class.

Colorful Dogs: watercolors and oil pastels
In this class we’ll look at colorful dogs in art then create some of our own.
This is a one day class.

African Safari


Big Lions: painted paper and oil pastels
We’ll learn about the king of beasts then make one with a painted paper mane.
This is a two day class.
Class A: Monday, June 6 and Tuesday, June 7
Class B: Thursday, July 7 and Friday, July 8

Water Hole Wildlife: painted paper collage
In this class well learn about some African animals and then make a fun water hole scene.
This is a two day class.

Creative Crocs: tempera paint and oil pastels
In this class we’ll make a crocodile dressed to impress with his shiny gold scales and colorful spikes.

This class includes two different projects: a Van Gogh inspired fruit plate and Monet inspired water lilies.

More Amazing Artists

Klimt's crazy quilts and twirl tree: markers, chalk pastels, and tempera paint
In this class we’ll learn about Gustav Klimt then create a metallic tree inspired my Klimt’s “Tree of Life” and a fun drawing of some crazy quilts.
This is a two day class. 
 Class A: Monday, June 20 and Tuesday, June 21

Lewis's Lovely House: 3D paper, paint, and markers
In this class we’ll learn about the inspiring folk artist Maud Lewis and her tiny house then create a house of our own.
This is a two day class. 
Class A: Wednesday, June 22 and Thursday, June 23

O'Keefe Woven Poppies: paint and yarn
In this class we’ll talk about the artist Georgia O’Keefe and 
then make a woven yarn poppy.
This is a one day class.

Art Shows Summer 2011

Show A: Saturday, June 25 6:00-7:00 pm. For all students who have participated in one or more art classes from May 31 to June 24.

Show B: Friday, July 22 6:30-7:30 pm and Saturday, July 23 6:30-7:30 pm. For all students who have participated in one or more art classes from June 27 to July 21.

Spring Break Art Fun Classes

 We are going to the beach, in art that is. 
I have had so much fun planning these ocean themed classes! 
I hope your artist can join us.
Tuition is $6.00 per student per 80 minute class.
Sibling and multiple class discount: if you register for more than one class or have more than one child from your family registered the tuition is $5.00

Monday, March 14th 1:40-3:00 pm
We'll talk about Carle and the way he uses collage then make our own underwater land collage.


*STILL OPEN* Colorful Clown Fish
Tuesday, March 15th 1:40-3:00 pm
We will discuss the amazing clown fish and its relationship with the sea anemone then make a colorful resist project using oil pastels and watercolors.

*STILL OPEN* Lewis Lighthouses
Wednesday, March 16th 1:40-3:00 pm
We'll look as some of the work of the inspirational folk artist, Maud Lewis then make our own lighthouse scene using mixed media.

*STILL OPEN* Pirates Ahoy!
Thursday, March 17th 1:40-3:00 pm
We'll use collage and acrylics to make these super fun pirate ships.

*STILL OPEN* Sensational Seahorses
Friday, March 18th 1:40-3:00 pm
We'll look at some seahorse footage then make our own using markers and chalk pastels.

Presidents' Day Art Fun Class!

Lady Liberty
We'll be creating a fun project inspired by the Statue of Liberty 
using markers and watercolors.
